Story from customer
Over the course of a lifetime we gather around us things that we value: our family, of course, but also our home itself, the possessions inside it and our cars outside.
These days, most families own their own homes and, even if we are not rich, the goods inside can be worth a lot of money.
I was burgled a few years ago; the thieves only had time to attack two rooms but they stole and destroyed over L30,000 of family possessions in just a few minutes. Possibly even worse than what was stolen was the mess they left behind.
Everything the thieves touched was tumbled onto the floor, books, pictures, glassware were all broken, smashed on the floor, it took days to clean up the mess and, afterward, it was never quite ‘our home’ any more. My home was no longer my castle.
In the end, we moved house for our own peace of mind – many families do exactly the same after a burglary.
I hate to think what might have happened if my wife and daughter were in the house at the time.
When the police came around to interview me they told me something I had no idea about:
a house that has a burglar alarm is safer than a house without one. A house with a fence is less likely to be burgled, but a house with a burglar alarm, a fence AND a gate is 300% less likely to be broken into. That made me think!
Why Are Most Residential Gates Useless?
Some of us have friends who have had residential gates fitted in the past and I bet that many of them have one thing in common: the gates are ALWAYS open? That’s because most sets of gates are heavy: they need to be if they are going to be sturdy enough to protect your home, but that’s a problem when your wife and kids want to use them. Many gates are left open for another reason: people are lazy; they don’t want to get out of their car, open the gates, get back in the car, drive to the house, get out of the car, walk back, close the gates and then, finally, walk back to the house.
So, most residential gates are useless! Thieves and vandals can just walk right by and into your home.
Your Gates Can Keep Your Family Safe
The guys at ScotGates have been installing residential gates for years and they know all about the problems of old fashioned manual gates and they think they have an answer to make your home safe against home invaders whilst being as easy to use as a TV remote control or mobile phone! With a modern automated residential gate installation you will have the peace of mind of knowing that your home is protected against intruders – remember that 300% reduction in burglaries!
One last thought: of course, the extra equipment needed to make your gates automatic costs money but many insurers offer sensible discounts to householders who value their families and belongings highly enough to protect them properly with a quality residential gate system that is actually used every day.
Taking the decision to protect your family in this way is a big step, both in terms of money and how your home will look after your new gates have been installed but if you want to avoid the destruction and torment that my family endured you can contact ScotGates to discuss an automated residential gate system to protect your family.
